Old Buxton Boy Empty Old Buxton Boy

I was born in Buxton in 1945, and lived at 16 Queens Rd,Fairfield, and in 1956 migrated to Australia and have lived here ever since. I hope to visit Buxton in Sepember 2007 and was wondering if some old friends might still be around, Brian Shirtcliffe who I learned to swim with and Clive Runakas. The school headmaster was a Mr Capp if any one remembers him.I went to the kids pictures every sat. morning and then roller skating at Pavillion Gardens.

Hi Ted. I to used to live on Queens Road (64) but in the 1960's. I have been back to Buxton a few times and was surprised at the change since I left in the 70's. There's no cinema now which was close to Sylvan Park. I think it's Iceland now. No through traffic in the town centre. Infact it's a real nice Town now. Oh I used to go to Silverlands Secondary School, this was knocked down abt the late 70's and bungalows have been built on the site now.
Hope you enjoy your stay in Buxton and all the transformation.

Pauline
